Don't you just love May......2 bank holidays?! For the early one we camped at Carnon Downs, near Truro and although the weather was a bit rubbish a good time was had by all! I've updated our blog:-

Just read it and commented. I was away last weekend too, weather was a bit hit and miss - got soaked through on Saturday putting the tent up - but when the sun came out it was really nice.

I went to carnon with the kids at feb half term, was a brilliant place, really impressed , my mum and dad usually go every year too at that time but due to my dad being ill they didn't get there with us, we had a great time though and enjoyed cycling off the site in different directions. And although it was cold the kids still enjoyed the beach.

It really is a great site isn't it Gazmister? Can't praise it enough. Love all the walks from the site and like you say the biking is great too. We didn't take our bikes this time as the forecast was rubbish (and it turned out to be right for a change!) but next time we will and we hope to do the mineral way/coast to coast track!

We will be there in just over a weeks time and really looking forward to the holiday part of it. Been a few times before and always had a great time. My wife has/had relatives in Falmouth and we usually visit a couple of times a year and had planned to spend some time with the last remaining one while we were down but sadly he has just died so third day of our holiday will be attending a funeral.

I'm planning another Anglesey trip next week, hopefully for ten days but depends on various things including work - I'm keeping my fingers crossed that things don't conspire against me.

Good luck! We were away last week in the Lake District (NOT in Bessy though). Had a great week, only got wet once! Stunning area. Next Bessy trip 2 weeks tomorrow for 4 days then off to Pembrokeshire for 10 days early July. Itching to get away again. x

Just looked through your Blog. It's like having a short break in Cornwall. You seem to capture pictures that we ourselves would take. Recently had a long week at The Beacon, St Agnes rather than Carnon Downs which was one of our top choices. Totally different experience as there are no showers or toilet block. Had a GREAT time as ever in God's Country. Cornwall of course. We tend to avoid Bank Hols as I retired young (ish !). Witnessed the 60 mile tailback into Cornwall as we left last bank holiday Monday. Now gearing up to carry bikes on the back of our little caravan. Using a tow ball mounted carrier which we can then fit on the Campervan for "day vanning" away from site. Short break in UK next then France in July. Cannot wait.... keep those photos coming and monitor your pub lunchs (LOL we should too )

Glad you enjoy our blog. Like you we try to avoid the BIG bank holidays down here, hate the traffic lark!
We're just back from a week in the Lakes (not in Bessy!). Was thinking about sticking some photos on our blog although it wasn't a 'Motorhome Tale'. Watch this space.
We're off again this weekend - Putts Corner CC, Devon and then next weekend too - Baltic Wharf CC, Bristol and then like you we have a trip in July but we're going to sunny Wales!!! Lots of photos to come.
