I've been offered an air awning by a friend who is getting a new unit.
The only problem is that it is for a motor home and I have a caravan, all the dimensions seem to add up the same as there are two heights one from 250 - 265 and then another 265-280.

I haven't got my van at home its in storage, the overall height including the aerial is 276cm, if I take off 10-20cm for the aerial it should fit. All the other dimensions are the same as a caravan awning.

Should I go for it as it is a friend i've been offered mates rates.
Please let me know your ideas and thoughts !!!! I need to make a decision.

Hi Jill, Depends on size most van awnings seem to be deeper than caravan awnings, might be too wide for hardstandings, Can you not get the correct size of your mate, hope it's what you want and it works out fine.

the length, depth and width are the same as the caravan awning measurements. This is why it is the height that is the only issue. I suppose I could sell it if it didn't fit and I went for it.

, re-read ,,,,,It should fit then theres normally a tension strap or someway to take the slack out of it so it looks neatish from rail to ground.

Hmmm that's what I was thinking, about a tension strap. To be fair, my husband has been camping all his life and was a scout leader he can do wonders with tension straps and pegs to aline a canvas.
I've had both online brochures for motor awning and caravan awning side by side to compare and they are exactly the same.
