Hi Rocker...
Oh dear!...not good...
I haven't had to repair one of our own but as a commercial vehicle body and coach builder(& repairer) in a previous life, I would say when stripping down, be careful that you don't remove too much strength/rigidity..and make sure that you add plenty of diagonal braces, and keep it all square and true, whilst it's still "in bits"(..*as the majority of the average MH's rigidity will come from all of the furniture).
(*although the above may not be too much of an issue, IF the roof skin panels are still in place?)
Obviously, whilst it's in bits, ideally you want to remove/replace as much of the "bad" as you can...BUT...it is very much a judgement call and in some areas it just may not be feasible to fully remove all of the "iffy" timbers..Meaning that splinting/reinforcing them is the only realistic option (done properly- glued & screwed- for a repair, that'd be perfectly okay though).
Presumably, it's just the timbers?(..or has the "rotting" timbers caused the aluminium skin the corrode? )
