Is it safe to run a 400w heater when hooked up (for sitting outside on sites that don't allow fires). Thanks

400 watts is only 1.74 amps so you will be fine. Most site hook ups are either 10 or 16 amp so plenty of leeway!!

I use an oil filled one which is just 700 watts and keeps the Trigano nice and cosy.

Inside, no problem, but outside ??   If it's within an awning it might be useful, but sitting outside, 400 watts of heat will just get 'blown away' and you won't get any benefit.

Agree - no point warming the great outdoors. Put on more clothes instead! If you want visual cheer, a big fat stable candle works well. You can get a flickering candle app too - I have used it in a hotel where a candle would have set off the alarm.
