I admit I am a total technical idiot and I don't know what I'm doing wrong but it could be anything. Filled tank hot water out for a while briefly now water won't pump. Had same problem last year repair people said nothing wrong so it must be something I'm not doing right.

In France at the moment ( and yes I have seen some blockades).

I may have knocked the tap to the hot water tank too maybe and emptied that?!

When I filled it this time I'm not sure if I ever got the " suction" to the taps going- not really sure what I'm doing with it at all. Help!

i presume you have filled your water tank, and the pump is switched on near the fuse control panel, does cold water come through the tap. is the a valve near the boiler that has been turned so it drains the hot water. sometimes you have to run the cold to bleed the system. once cold water is running ok, stop then try the hot tap.

Thanks calypso. For your response.
Since my first post I rang a garage that sells and repairs camper and like mine and they talked me through it. It appears I'd knocked the switch that empties the hot tanks and the rest of the tank had emptied unbeknown to me. Also I know know how to empty the air out of the system for future so all is well. If often managed without water on tap as I carry a spare aquaroll next to my passenger seat.
As for heating water do I take it I would need electric for that -it doesn't heat with gas?

Thank you for replying

Next they'll be giving us the vote !!!
It's perfectly possible to travel on your own , with no major problems.
Other people's perceptions or misconceptions are the only issue but one I ignore.I don't mean you but to assure folks it's ok for ladies to travel on their own.

Gilly If your water heater doesn't work on gas then it should work on electric - without knowing your van I don't know, BUT have a look under the beds for an electric switch which should have a neon - red light, which if it is on will glow red. Why they hide them away I have never fathomed out. Anyway if there is one make sure there is water in the heater and coming out of the hot tap. Turn the tap off and switch the switch on and then wait patiently - a virtue seldom found in women who demanded the vote and travel on the their own!! (joking honest) Also remember one persons eccentricity is another persons sanity!!!

Thanks for your reply , I did sort it out in the end. I had inadvertently knocked the switch that drains the hot water tank .
I've patiently waited for a response to my post and there it is

Now, when my daughter travelled alone on her gap year , was she eccentric too? 😂

Ah eccentric - it is what others consider "not normal" because you don't conform to their idea of what is normal. I have an interest in Short wave radio, can send and read Morse Code and build my own equipment but to some I am a nutter because I am interested in something they are not. There again I can't stand sport in any shape shadow or form and that includes football - I shall next year be somewhere where I don't have any interruption regarding what is happening in Brazil. To me people interested in any sport are "nutters" but I let them get on with their life. Travel alone - you travel faster, and so long as your daughter felt safe I see nothing eccentric about it - but others might. Have fun.

Thanks. So I am interested.

Why would people think travelling alone was eccentric?

Back to the hot water, our "immersion heater" switch is in the wardrobe. Didn't find it until the end of our first week away.
