Read a lot about the seat belt issue in motorhomes but not much about any difficulties with child seats, our not so new addition to the family has just reached her 1st birthday and am looking forward to some trips out, the child seats are about to be replaced from first stage, any wise information from those in the know? Our Burstner has two forward facing sets but certainly the first child seat would not fit with table in place, this is too heavy to be removed by us and we shyed away from putting baby on front passenger seat.

I have a granddaughter age 17 months and her car seat fits with the normal seat belt in the front facing dinning area seat but I always remove the table as it would cause a nasty injury in the event of an accident

Yes, this would work but I am unanle to remove the table as it is too heavy for me, looks like she may have to be strapped into the garage.........only joking!!

Personally I am against leaving the tables in place, if you crash thats a pretty big heavy object that will hit who ever is in that seat. I always remove the table when our daughter is travelling in that seat.

Also why don't you take the Van to halfords or mothercare or similar, they will do a fit for you and make sure its suitable.

We had a nightmare with our last seat getting it to fit, luckily now she is old enough for a booster type seat and its easier.

It's the physical weight of the table I have a problem with as my arms and shoulders don't work like they used to do after a lot of neck surgery. Did have a thought about getting a light wieght table to fit in the gap as we don't use the area for bed space then we could put it down and store in the garage.
Thanks for sharing your experience, been really useful.
Regards.

Agree the table is heavy and a light camping table should do the job if not using it for a bed area, I have to remove it t fit the dog cage in when driving with Daisy the daft lab in the van
