My motorhome only has gas blown air heating n I wonder how long a gas bottle will last if used for eg 5 hours each evening, I have a small portable electric heater but not sure if it will be ok in the winter
it is if you are on hook up at a campsite, that's what I use ie, a small oil filled radiator, 700 watts does the job nicely, but I do not know how big your camper is, mine is a Trigano Tribute, so not so big.
It's a Lunar Premier H622 fixed bed 22 foot long approx, used a convector heater in the spring and was warm enough but turned it off when using the kettle just in case it tripped the electric off
not in this country mate, camp sites are all around 16 amps, even a 10 amp supply site you can use the heating and the kettle quite safely, its abroad you got to watch it especially in France/Spain/Portugal where the power can be a bit on a low side, but now due to the EU all campsites all over Europe have to supply an adequate power output if the want to carry on to operate, I found that in the past 10 years alone some in very rural places have closed due to the amount of money required to fulfil the EU health & safety. The one we go to in Spain, for the past 2 years have been improving the electrical boxes(they were open to all ) and the suplly, noe its 6 amps or 10, obviously you pay more for the 10
If you look at the specifications for you heater, either in the instruction book if you have one or google heater make/model and find info that way you will find a grams/hr useage reading for heater. 1000 grams=1kilo and from that you can calculate how long, say, a 6kg gas bottle could run it for.
