Yes
Even though we *got rid of the "proper" MH a couple of years back, we've remained members, as we feel we get a good deal on the Greenflag (Red Pennant?) breakdown/recovery/dual relay (both our vehicles covered, with far better cover, for a helluva lot less than the AA were, just for the OH's car!)
* We did look at "registering/adding" the details of our Toyota "camping-van" onto our "membership/account details "(?) but I think I recall something along the lines of; if it's not a listed make/model or it's a self build, their "team" need to get back to you?(presumably you'd need to provide details/photos?)
So as ours is just a very basic self build, a bit rough'n'ready 'round the edges (and really more of a "festival van"), we didn't bother registering it in the end.
We have still used the odd few CLs though, even without it's details being added (..not sure whether we should have really been allowed to though? )
So yes, I'd say yes it's worth joining, even if it's only for the year, to see how you get on.
Re:Booked up sites.- As already said, the more popular, higher profile sites/locations are obviously going to experience high demand (..if we want to stay there, why be surprised when other do too? ) but there are usually alternatives..and it is sometimes worth ringing the site direct, just in case they have some spaces kept back?
