I am seriously thinking of buying a campervan. I love the look of the Nissan NV 200 it appeals to me because it can be used everyday.
However, I am wondering if its size makes it too small for more than a few nights away.
Would love to hear from anyone who has one.
I have read Dinkums blog and it is very interesting. He tows a small caravan so I don't know how much he uses the van for night use. I will try a search on here.
Hi Kamperkite, I am in the process of having an NV200 combi converted (trad side furniture) with a 1.12m wide bed. As my wife and I aren't huge, and having been to the NEC show and tried the beds for size, I think it will be a suitable size for us. Also, having a deisel powered Wallas XC duo stove / heater to get rid of Gas useage, a small square sink and underbed compressor drawer fridge all powered by a 130AH 12V battery backed up by a 110W solar roof panel, I cannot think of a better campervan out there that is geared up for going literally anywhere and economically (50 + per gallon). The conversion is due Dec 2015, and I have agreed to supply pictures to Dinkum. Will advise on here when ready for viewing - just so you can get a picture of what you could have. Ciao
Thanks Mikael
There are some good offers on pre registered NV200 and I am thinking of maybe buying a van and having it converted rather than buying a ready made conversion.
Still haven't seen a conversion for real so going down to Sussex Campers in a couple of weeks. Will be able to compare the NV200 with the VW T5.
Look forward to seeing your pic's in due course.
Mike
No problems. Also see Wellhouse Leisure and Lunar (Vacenza) to name two companies who convert NV200's; the first convert the panel van whilst the latter convert the combi MPV.
We had a new NV200 converted by Sussex campervans -very pleased with it, It is small but we thought it was a compromise worth making as we wanted to be able to use it as a second car. We regularly get 50+ miles to the gallon. Good quality conversion. We do find that we need an awning if more than a couple of nights -have bought a Kampa Air awning -very easy to assemble and allows us to keep chairs, heater and table outside. The other bonus is 4 seat belts
The larger motorhomes are beautiful but wouldn't be suitable for everyday driving. It really depends on what you need and which vehicle best suits your needs.
