Hi

I have been quoted over £700 for a Towbar for My Lunar Roadstar 786 when it is a run of the mill Alko Chassis, Does any Know where i can get a one cheaper than this or a second hand one.

Perhaps the problem is that it's an ALKO chassis.
From what I know and have seen there is not much strength in an ALKO chassis as far as towing is concerned so they have to be beefed up a bit. The towing capacity is also limited and could be as low as 1.5 tonnes but you will know this from your train weight.

While we're on the subject of towbars, I am about to take delivery of a Swift Lifestyle and have had a quote of £795.00 and a possible extra £200.00 if the chassis needs strengthening, yet this vehicle comes with the heavy duty chassis extensions ready for optional homologated towbar.
Can anybody recommend a firm in the South East, we live in Kent, that could this job and hopefully a lot cheaper
