Let me pick your brains here, we are probably going to the show in October and I was thinking that week-days would be quieter than the week-end. It then occurred to me that the majority of people going might well be retired and therefore not restricted to going at the week-end. Does anyone here have experience of which is the best day to visit?

I think it might depend whether the dates coincide with half term. If it does the week days could be busy but even then I doubt they will be as busy as the weekend.

No they are not the same as our half term, we have always found the Saturdays to be busy.

Hate going at the weekend - too many parents let their children explore without any supervision, so you're trying to look at something with a view to spending quite a lot of money, and they're pushing past you to get into the MH or caravan, or playing with (and damaging, we've seen) the drawers & cupboards & washroom fittings etc, or sitting on the couch with their gadgets, parents nowhere in sight. Don't get me wrong - not all parents, not all children, and adults leave sweetie wrappers too, but the hassle is enough to put me off going when it's not a school day.

We went last year on the Saturday for it opening and it was great for an hour but then was packed. We lost the will to live and left at lunch time. I would try in the week as another couple we chatted to had been there each day and said it had been considerably quieter.

We BYO picnic too, as the queues for food & coffee can be long, and OH's sandwiches are better. Take a camera for photos of what you like plus the name of the model on the sign by the habitation door. After a while, they all become a blur, and it's time to go.
------------- 2025=3 sites, 5 nights; 2024 = 20 sites / 41 nights. 2023 = 9/23. 2022 = 13/35. 2021 = 11/29. 2020 = 4/20. 2019 = 13/35. 2018 = 20/33. 2017 = 10/22. 2016 = 19/33. 2015 = 15 sites / 27 nights. Didn't count 1976 to 2014.
