We have also just bought our first Romahome. Nearly but not quite new and we got it from Freeborn. We also noted that they are quite scarce and go very quickly and they all seem to have different specs eg cc and turbo diesel or not, so when we found the one that had everything we wanted we decided to go for it there and then. It is the Outlook model and we were reassured because the previous owners had traded it in for a new model so they must have got on OK with it. We are picking it up this week and can't wait.
Hope you enjoy yours as well and maybe we will see you around.
I just hope the weather stays good but if not who cares!!!
Me and the missus just got a Romahome a few weeks ago and we`ve already been away 4 times. She`s an old lady, (The Romahome not the wife!!!) 21yrs young and called Rosie. It`s great fun, we`re off again in the morning for a couple of nights in Yorkshire, it`s great to be retired at 48 (Smug Grin)
We did not have our Romagnome when this thread was started so long ago, but actually I have just noticed that I was the last poster on it until you, madjack!!!
We have now, however met some of the nice people who posted earlier on a couple of meets organised by the Small Motorhome Club run by Pauline who does a stirling job.
We love our little van and use it frequently and it has saved our bacon on several occasions when we have been unable to get hotels rooms for events that normally we would have used hotels for.
We often visit friends all around the country and we are no trouble as we take our own room with us and it has been used as a spare bedroom at home for our some of our visitors!
We are retired too (very early I must add!!!!) and get around as much as we can, but do tend to stick to good weather.
Hi Madjack, and welcome, I did do 2 posts last night but they have failed to appear!
As Romaway as already said, Smallmotorhomes.co.uk are a hive of information regarding Romahomes, also I noticed that yours is a red base, Martinw has the same and I know he browses this forum, so he may be in touch as there are so few coloured vehicles.
I am on to my 2nd Romahome, upgraded two years ago and they are brilliant, wouldnt be without mine little tardis.
Hi I have just bought a Honda Acty Romahome with a 550 engine and we are surprised how nippy it is!! we had our first trip last Saturday and we really enjoyed it apart from the fuse going in the evening! Was a bit cold to say the least! I have lots of spares now ;)
