I am aware of a US citizen who wishes to spend an extended holiday in the UK.

Would like to purchase a motorvan whilst here for the period, but has concerns as to whether he would be able to get insurance or not.

Does anyone know of a company who might be able to assist this person please??

If he wants to buy a UK reg motorhome here then he would need a permanent UK address from which to register/tax/insure the vehicle. If this was the address of a friend or relative then it might be more feasible for the friend/relative to register the vehicle in his name with American named as second driver.

Obviously this would be a bit mickey mouse because American would of course be main driver but it might be the only reasonably priced way of doing it.

would not hiring be a better solution?? I know its expensive but it all depends at how long he wants the van for?? I had friends visiting from Italy, wishing to visit Scotland and the lakes, I seem to remember they got a fantastic deal that is if they are willing to travel in a not so new campervan/motorhome, I would do a good google search on the subject.
