I am investigating the use of a tag for use at French autoroute tolls. I have a question about vehicle height.
According to the site servitir.com, the height measurement is made at the front axle. If you have a sat dome behind the front axle which takes your height above 3m, would you still be able to claim the class 2 rate of under 3m in height?
Hi Cucola I have a coach built motorhome that is 3m high with a Oyster sat dome in the middle of the van and used a Toll Tag for the first time this year and it was great once I found out you have to get really close to the barrier for it to operate.
The height sensor should be able to tell what is height of roof & not include what is on the roof, ie load/box/aerial. It does not always work but if overcharged at a staffed peage you can get it rectified there & then. Even if you are at unmanned barrier, press bell & somebody will come over.
If peage is completely automatic with no staff present on site I would guess there would be a phone but you would need to speak French.
