We are thinking to get a awning this year, as having been a previous caravanner and having a large awning, I do miss the space sometimes.
So wondered what would be the best make, type and model?
And if anyone has the Vango airbeams? As this system looks good.
Thanks a lot
H

Hi, If you trawl through awning posts on here I am sure you will find many answers. Not wanting that to sound rude or glib, I will elaborate on Vango Airbeam awnings.
We have 2....yes 2, both Vango...both airbeams. We have one of the first drive away's made by Vango The Sapera tall, and more recently 2015...The Idris. Sapera is superior (LOL) product, as it really is the dogs (B) It is however rather large for some pitches at some sites. But....It will never be beaten on quality, value, ease of use, and extra room it provides. The model has been modified now....and has a sideways tunnel to attach to the van. I am not sure why it had the strange glances due to its size...as a car parked at the side of a caravan, with an awning takes up a similar amount of space. The Idris, is at the cheaper end of the Vango range. The difference is in the fabric only. It still does what it says on the box, and everything about it other than the cheaper fabric is of the same quality. It is a very roomy awning, and easily allows for four to eat at table with 4 chairs. This item has also been made differently for 2016, and even the colour has changed. WE would recommend Vango products. We chose them above other makes as they have been making airbeam tents for years and had a deserved and established reputation. The size of the van matters also....i.e its height...You can get standard (STD) and Tall. Hope this helps. You will get people asking why do you NEED an awning. Ignore it.

Thank you very much for that Austins, very helpful to us.
We have seen so many types on sites but having researched it a bit, we thought Vango came out tops.
But still unsure of the model, having said that, I liked the Galli, but it's a bit too big for what we want, I think. As there are just the two of us and two springers, most of the time.
It's also quite expensive lol.
Thanks for taking the time to reply 😉

Hi, just googled your van for a picture....you will need a Tall vango of whichever model you choose. You are aware that they can be free standing also. You do not actually need to attach to your van. Hope you find what you are after.
