I have a Hymer Car 372 which is on a Fiat Ducato base. The passenger seat swivels round & I can slide it back so far (the normal for when facing forward) but there's still over a foot between back of seat and dashboard - any idea how to get it to slide further back? Am I missing a trick somewhere?

Hi

If it forms part of a dinette, then I suppose it's how it sits in relationship to the table that counts?..if it doesn't sit right with that, then something may've been assembled incorrectly?

(The swivelled passenger seat of our previous MH (Renault based Chausson coachbuilt) would still  be well clear of the dash, if left in an upright/sitting (rather than "lounging")position..)

Yes, it does swivel to table & is very close to it - that's the main reason for wanting to get it further back. I'm sure my previous VW T5 van had a second latch that allowed seat to go back a good way - can't seem to find anything similar on Hymer.

I don't think any of the swivels fitted in our previous vans(Renault Master/Chausson, Boxer X250/Compass , Transit/Autosleeper)had a second latch...?

If it does sit too close to the table when reversed, then maybe the sliding assembly has just been mounted to the swivel using the wrong holes? .(can you see any alternative/spare holes in the runners/base?)

It would also be worth asking on a Hymer specific forum (assuming there is one).

Snowyvan

Have had 3 ducatos over 15 years (all 3 types)In all cases the swivel/recline/seat moving gear was identical on both front seats. (Guess standard Fiat stuff rather than the convertors.) Also in all cases the dinette table could be moved for/aft anyway.

Have just inspected our current one and both front seat mounts are indeed the same in terms of front/backwards adjustments with no alternative mounting holes. Would suggest that the extent of movement of base towards the dashboard is limited by the steering wheel position (when the wheel is fully 'in'.)
Bear in mind that most convertors (esp Hymer) have to fit in with both LHS and RHS drive vehicles.

Your van not really a snowyvan is it!?

Iggy

Thanks Iggy.
Hadn't thought about most Hymers will be LH drive - & so passenger swivel seat on my RH drive would not go further back because there would be steering wheel there.
Not sure how to answer Q about it not being a Snowyvan!! Snowy was our previous white VW T5.
Pepe - can't see any other holes to mount it further back.
Hay Ho - just the way it is I guess.
