Any advice on purchasing a Romahome c15?
Have decided that I prefer the features of this model over the newer duo eg:
split door,
Proper cupboard under sink (space not sacrificed for a cassette loo that I won't use!)
Better space above cabin
but that throws me into the very old second hand market - so I am nervous about how to spot a good one versus a duffer?
Any tips?

Also what features come with what age?
I will need:
power steering.
I would like:
Blinds and fly screens
Blown air heating
Leisure battery
Onboard water storage
Not sure what is/was standard and what would have been added/optional (or how easy to add myself).

Thanks ... In advance!!

Can't understand why people buy these things, very inefficient use of cab space. Buy a panel van that the front seats turn round. You don't have to get out then to get in the back.. And transit size vans aren't that much bigger really.

Good thing about a C15 is the 1.9 diesel, old technology, cheap to repair & good for 200k miles provided cambelt is changed. Slow though. Also if you go to France you're never far from a garage that can fix it.

Most have power steering, not that familiar with the camper conversion but it has electric hookup so leisure battery can be fitted & there will be water container under sink. Op needs to be a bit good at diy if they want to run an old camper without it costing a fortune though.

I must agree with Fleck2's view on this type of van, unless you specifically want a very compact vehicle.

Power steering is pretty standard on everything, and a leisure battery is fairly standard too. However, I have come upon older vans with hookup, but without a 12V charger.

The only option I'd question is the blown air heating which I found to be too noisy. (my Eberspacher is anyway)

Two drifters off to see the world.

I'm tired of reality, so I'm off to look for a good fantasy.
