We have decided to purchase a Nexbase dash cam. We have Remis blinds in our van, so for obvious reasons we want to fix it to the dashboard instead of the windscreen.
It comes with a suction cup which will not stick to the dashboard. Does anyone have any practical suggestions for attaching the camera to the dashboard?
You may have a Rapido, as a guess that is HAHA....and I would imagine it is on a Fiat....does it not have that lift and pull gadjet in the middle of the dashboard? the one which will hold a SatnaG ( that's what I call ours!)or a mobile phone etc....it should work if you do. We have remis blinds....and all our kit will attach to it...but have not as yet tried a camera.
I bought Halfords Sat Nav Mounting Disc £2 but when driving over bumpy road the image from the camera was shaky When attached to the windscreen the image is stable So I have to remove the camera at night when using Remis blinds
we've got a Ducato based van with the lift up clipboard thingy in the middle of the dash & I wanted to fit satnav, front facing camera & reversing camera,
I solved the problem by mounting them all together on a piece of thin perspex (suckers work) & putting it on the clipboard, needs a bit of velcro on the front but works a treat. Oh yes for all the cables I shortened them & fed them into one small box with one 12v supply out to the cigarette lighter.
After each outing it's simply unplugged, lifted off & taken out, Job done.
------------- It felt good......so I dun it! I'm not old I'm .........forgot what I was gonna say.
Thanks for your replies. We don't like driving with the clipboard up it constantly seems to be in the line of vision! May have to go back to the sticking to the windscreen option!
I got one of these for my car and must say it's a cracking bit of kit, it stays put and is easily movable to tuck down out of sight and as long as you have a flatish area to put it on it is the dogs danglies
I bought one that clips to the rear view mirror and yes I too have remis blinds and all I have to do is just adjust the mirror to close them and it is just a matter of adjusting the mirror again before driving off and it is a cheap one from China but it does give excellent results, no shaking at all, the sound is very good, the only drawback is no GPS, but really don 't need it. I bought another for my jeep.
