Well our T4 is about to be taken out for our first time. We shall obviously be staying on sites but what I would like is a site on farmland where I can Metal Detect so I am asking if anyone here can help in our quest.   I look forward to any comments or pointers. Many thanks.

OK Dusty you are playing the 'wild card' here. Where do you want to travel to? The information you require is not on the UK campsite as a 'special' attraction to a site...like say 'Site with fishing'. It would hopefully get some answers from some one if you ask the same question, but give an area. Then a member, local to that area, may be able to come through with an answer for you.

In reply to Dusty......... are you a member of either of the two large clubs?
If you are, then a large number of their small CL's or CS's sites are located on farms.
So if you are a member then start searching for farms in either of their truly excellent site directories and then when you have found one which sounds interesting, simply give them a call and ask if you can metal detect on their land.

Not quite the same scenario as you but I have 3 very energetic Springer Spaniels and I always phone the farms that I stop on and ask if I can exercise them on their land.
