Hi, hope someone can help me. I have a 2002 mclouis 410 Camper van. All is great except the fridge won't work on gas. Yellow light just keeps flashing. Works fine on 12v and hook up. All help grateful ly received.

I can only tell you what happened to mine, it was exactly the same, worked on 12 volts and mains but it just would not light up on gas although piezo electronic system was working, it turned out to be the electronic gas pressure valve, replaced under warranty. so get someone to check it out.

Sorry I can't help you with a McLouis, or 410 'fridge. I can see that you just joined the forum, and I would have to say try McLouis owners or google the name of, not just the number of the 'fridge. Is it possible that, and I don't mean to be rude, that the gas is not turned on....getting through to the 'fridge. Have you owned the van for sometime? and was it working previously. If yes, then other Mclouis folk will help. If you have only just bought it...ask the previous owner / dealer for help. Sorry I cant be of much use. Good luck and welcome to 'our' forum.

Does the van have to be on level ground to enable the fridge to work on gas ? I have heard that 3 way fridges are susceptible to this when working on gas.

If the van is new to you, a Habitation Service may be advisable. Ours showed that the fridge didn't work on gas because the external burner was corroded away. We opted not to replace it as it meant taking out the fridge. One consistent message on these UKCS forums is - don't mess with gas, it's not worth the risk of death.

Thank you. Being useless wroth these things took it to bristol caravan who were brilliant. Worked through lower rear vent and cleared pipe which was corroded. All working fine.

Hi fiona. Great advice indeed. The corroded burner can be accessed via lower vent fyi, as the initial quote was for 4hrs to remove and replace fridge.
