coming off the late ferry at Harwich and going back to Nottingham. Need an overnight on the way. Any suggestions please. heading towards Stanstead and the M11.
I haven't been through Harwich but there must be a car park at the port where you could park up and get a few hours'sleep. We've done it at Dover and at Dunkirk. Good luck.
You just want somewhere to break the journey home, why care who your neighbours on site are? The wonderful UKCS map search will find you a cheap Certificated site on a farm. Phone & book. Or pull into a M-way service station - it's about £20 to park up for the night.

Thanks folks. There is parking at the port but wanted to get about halfway home.
Thaxted sounds good but what if its full? (& travellers)
If both bays are occupied just park next to them in a car bay, the car park will be empty at night. And don't forget you are parking not camping, overnight parking is obviously allowed and the 2 larger bays are just for convenience. Also if there is any doubt you can buzz off at 7am and nobody will be any wiser.
We stayed last week on the check in lanes after arriving back from Holland. I considered going on straight away, but looking at the amount of trucks and caravans on board, decided to wait as the roads out of Harwich are slow at he best of times. We got up at about 3am and sailed along and made great time to the M11.
