Hi quite new to this would appreciate any help advice, what awning to consider? there's no rail on the van, how do I attach it . I'm a complete novice. Thanks in advance

Motorhomes usually have wind out ones like the Fiamma F45. You can buy sides for them if you want too

Not always, and I doubt if they did in 1979!

You can buy the rail to attach to the side of the van and figure of 8 to attach the awning to the rail. Probably easiest if you look at the Towsure website or somewhere similar for pictures of what you need, it's a tad complicated to explain but simple to show.

Do you want an attached awning or a "drive away" (ie. self supporting one - a bit like a frame tent)?

When I had a High top van with rear doors, I had a high-top awning that could attach either by a rail, or simply by pulling the apron over the van and anchoring it with elastic guy ropes (bungee cord).

With a little modification, this also fitted our later van which had a side door.

I think you have the year or the model wrong. Boxers didn't come in until 1993.
