Sorry I've not posted much for a little while, but I've been rather poorly
However, I just had to come on line to let those of you who have been following the saga of our hassles over parking a motorhome on our drive way know, that we have today (my birthday), picked up our new Motorhome, and it is now sitting proudly on our driveway. It was about 8.30pm by the time we arrived home with it, so as yet, I don't think the neighbours have seen it. However - come tomorrow I don't think they will be able to miss it . Now we just have to sit and wait, to see if they are going to complain.
Can't wait to start putting all our bits and pieces in it and load it up ready for our first trip, which will probably just be a day trip on Bank Holiday Monday with the kids.
Many thanks to all of you who have listened to our troubles and given words of support and advice. We are proud to finally be amongst the 'official' ranks of Motorhome Owners and like minded people, whichever method of enjoying the great outdoors they choose. Can't wait to meet up with some of you.
Sara & Dave

Great News Sara which one did you decide on in the end?
Tracy was asking how you were getting on when I saw her the other night.
What a wonderful birthday present!
Thanks Jan
We've settled for the Lunar Newstar 58E which is a pretty traditional 5 berth. Quite roomy considering it's under 20ft. When I was following Hubby home in convoy tonight, I kept thinking to myself how small it looked, yet parked up on the drive it actually looks quite big. We need to cut a branch off the neighbours tree as soon as possible, otherwise it's going to scrape along the side of our motorhome. I just hope they don't get ratty about it. Will try and do it when she's down the school so she doesn't notice.
Say hi to Tracey for me please
Can't wait to load it with all our bits and bobs, and then go off on our first journey. We might actually go off for a day trip on Saturday to Towsure in Southampton (as good a place as any) and then park up somewhere for our first cuppa in our new van.

Congratulations Sara and Dave. It’s good to hear you’ve got your motor home after overcoming all the hassles.
I think you’ll find the law is on your side regarding overhanging branches. I can’t imagine a neighbour getting upset about some judicious pruning.
Here’s hoping all goes well for you now.
Happy holidays
Carr & Hazel
