We are thinking of buying a pair of these ramps but have seen a few bad reviews about the plastic cracking and leaving sharp edges which could puncture the tyres. If anyone has a pair of these we would welcome any reviews.
I had a pair that I bought second hand, but like new, and they looked very strong. I never actually used them as the pair together in the bag took up far too much space in our MH.
I think you will find that the reason why the Milenco Quattro ramps crack and break is because the motorhome is driven to the summit (too far up) which the weight of the engine alone is enough to tip the ramps slightly thus creating a fracture in the plastic. The load needs to be spread more evenly ie. not driving so far up. However, the solution is to have 4 ramps and place them back to back so when the wheels reach the summit they start to decline down the opposite side which the excess load is then spread over the two ramps each side.
In the link below, read the warning sign at the bottom of the page.
We have the Milenco Tridents same length and height but only 3 larger pockets for the wheel to fall into so they fit the tyre circumference better and you can feel when the wheels drop into the depressions better.
I am not impressed with the Quattro ramps - they do become unstable if you use the top pocket as the end of the ramp is at right angles to the ground. Also there is no lip at the top of the ramp to stop the wheel rolling of the edge of the ramp. You shouldn't have to but 4 to make them stable and do the job they should do!
WE have them too but don’t use them often. Never use the top slot, never had too. Wheels don’t fit snuggly into each depression either. Great carry bag but they hare heavy to lug about and big to stow. Ours sits in back isle and under van when parked up
