Apologies if the drive away awning subject has been done to death on here, but I am looking for the camper van equivalent of a caravan porch awning. We already have a Vango Airbeam Kela, but it is just too big for for our needs. Has anyone found a small & lightweight awning suitable for a 2m awning rail height (VW T4/5 size)
By the way the Kela is a great awning which we will continue to use for longer stays. Thanks, Neil.

Hi..
Not a "proper" awning admittedly but we've been using a Quechua Base tent against our Toyota van for a few years now, and we rate it highly..

It's very quick to erect and to drop(although it would be a large dia' pack size to lug about, "just in case")

I just bridge the small gap along the top edge with a strip of "tarp", onto which we've stitched an awning bead..

Thanks for the suggestion. I did something similar years ago, so it may be worth looking in to again. I think I know someone with a Quechua day tent who will let me try it out for size.

We had the same problem. Our Vango is too large for a short stay.
We bought a Sunncamp Silhouette Motor. It's easy to put up and doesn't take loads of pegging out.
