Have you checked your towing capacity of your Swift Kontiki ? Dependant on the model you may be very limited as to what you can tow
i have criticised this before, but why tow a car at all, why not a car and tow a caravan?? especially on the continent that way you have the best of both worlds, why not take a scooter if visiting is your pleasure, I come across so many people in my travels that do just that and they often tell me at how sorry they are for having a car behind the motorhome, half of the times they can't even use places, ie, aires and campsites abroad will charge for the car as well, this my opinion and mine alone.
The only reason I have a m/h and not a caravan is quite simple. In the road that I live caravans are not allowed and that is actually stated in the deeds of all owners in my road.I had a solicitor look into it and it is correct.I would love to go abroad in a caravan but I am not prepared to move to allow this.Anyway to get back to my post has anybody any info for me.Thanks.
I have an Ivor Williams single axle trailer and am towing my car around Spain and Portugal now and am thoroughly enjoying it and have had no problems parking up anywhere not bad for a rig that is 13.5 m long.
Forgot to say the trailer is 300kg and the car is 580kg
