We had a fiat based vehicle 2007 and recently changed it for an Elddis 185 (marquess) 2016
There are always compromises we did not like the raised internal different level floors and opted for the level floor.
It is not ad blue but the 150bhp engine and it is far smoother and gutsy than the 130 bhp fiat engine
Some may suggest that the new ab blue / non ad blu engines from fiat and Peugeot are a bit sluggish to meet the ultra low emissions

We have owned a 'budget' Auto-trail coach-built Excel for just over 7 years. Can't compare it with other makes as before this we have a pvc.

For us, the vehicle has been brilliant, we had a heater problem with it was new, Autotrail dealt with it and all fixed to our satisfaction at their premises.

Despite being ' budget' our van has held us to everything we have thrown at it, in 7 years we have spent over 850 nights in it, travelled throughout Europe and had 2 mechanical problems 1) windscreen wiper motor broke 2) battery needed replacing.

On the habitation front - the washer went on the kitchen sink, the waste pipe split on the drain to the kitchen sink and the ignition on the oven stopped working about a year ago (we now use a lighter) - that's it.

So, we are fans of Auto-trail and would say the quality is great. We have met people who own every make of van imaginable and there is always someone with a horror story to tell (and that includes a fair few Germans with their own make of vans).

Whatever you go for, make sure you have a good dealer as their relationship with the manufacturer is vital if you have problems.

I would expect a bottom of range low spec motorhome to stay in one piece better than top of range. The less complication the less there is to go wrong.

Great advice Dot...our 100 is a great little unit spot on layout great for parking at under 6mtrs, we just fancy a change and the autotrail have some very appealing vans in the current range.
Autoquest don't manufacture the 100 anymore which is a real shame as we'd probably just by a newer one.
Have you had any water ingress problems on the wall to ceiling joints?
The construction methods of our Autoquest is the only thing that let's them down

No water ingress at all - it's dry as a bone

Our van is fairly well put together, cupboards don't have catches but all stay shut. Worktops are in same condition as when we bought it etc.

I guess the biggest test is would we buy another Auto-trail - for sure we would if the layout was what we wanted wouldn't hesitate.

Ok many thanks I think that's why I like the autotrail because of its solid moulded plastic construction whereas the autoquest just seems to be timber framed with aluminium nail to it which isn't really that Ideal against the elements

The Fiat engine euro 6 engine does not need to use Adblue the reason it was not adopted across the entire Serval range is because Peugeot/Citroen would not pay for the development costs so its Fiat only.
Our friends liked there Autotrail till the fridge fell out and they are plagued by niggling problems with the water pump.
