We've always loved camping but this year we've taken the plunge and we're getting a van converted, should hopefully have it by end of April.
Just looking for any tips. Particularly interested in advice on sleeping in the van overnight in towns and villages, good car parks on beaches where we can park up for the day and go out on our kayak/lay in our van watching the sea, and any good tips for essential equipment.
Hi Oli,
Welcome to the forum.
Might pay you to put your location in your profile so people have a rough idea where you are to advise you.
As regards tips ,think safety, smoke detector, Co monitor.Fire extinguisher and fire blanket.
The rest are just luxuries.
Hope the van turns out OK.
Regards,
Greg
Hi, depending on where you are, you may find that wild camping as you describe would not be permitted. It should say on the display boards in car parks, but you will frequently see 'no over-night parking' signs. However, if you took it to France....
Welcome to the site Oli and the life of motorhoming, Can I suggest you have a look at joining BRITSTOPS where you can stop for the night at various places free, all over the country. This could be pub. Farm shops vinyards and so on. Well worth being part of this as you could travel around seeing the country and enjoying it all.
Have a look on their website we would not be without it. Chris.
