Hi,
We are looking to buy a campervan - we thought we had it all worked out VW T5 conversion with back kitchen and toilet. Then we saw a R30 advertised locally. I went to see it and loved it but unfortunately it had already sold so hubby hasn't had chance to see more than pics which just isn't enough to base decisions on. So I wondered if anyone owns one in the Lancaster area (or is visiting...) who would be prepared to let us look at it to help us decide what we are looking to get 2nd hand. Unfortunately the only ones for sale are in the south of England and would require over 4 hour journey. We'd happily travel this if we knew we wanted one but it's a long way just to look.

I can't help you on this one. Since buying our R30 18 months ago, I've only seen one other!
I can, however thoroughly recommend it. It is a fantastic wagon with a surprizing amount of storage space. It's compact enough to fit in a parking space and can be used as a big car. It's fast and economical - on a trip to Europe last year, ours returned 37.4 mpg over 1750 miles.
The 100 bhp model uses the Ford Puma engine which is non-turbo and has a timing chain, so no expensive cam belt replacement.
Not the cheapest vehicle, but a great one.
I notice that there is one advertised in Preston - is that the one you were referring to?

Hi,
The Preston one is the one which had sold.
All the ones I've seen have been on the Citroën relay, not seen any Ford base ones. The storage and economy are what attracts me.
Thanks for the info

The R30 IS on a Citroen relay... however the 100 bhp model is essentially Ford Transit mechanics in a Citroen shell. It also has fantastic brakes.

Hi Vikki,
I don't own one but had one parked next to us in Edinburgh in October.
I was really impressed with the finish on it.
The owner said it was the best van he had ever owned and used it regularly here and abroad.
Good luck with your search.
Regards,
Greg

We wanted to check out the R30 in Preston but it sold before we had the opportunity to go and see it. I agree that they look fabulous vans.
Good luck with your search.
