Hi all,

I put myself in quite of a pickle. For one reason or another (don't ask...) I find myself with a motorhome and nowhere to keep it until May. All the storage sites within 100 mile radius (south-east) are, naturally, full until the season starts, and I have no driveway or parking nearby to put it.

Did anyone ever find themselves in a similar quandary? If so, what did you do? What would you advise?

phone some of the local camp sites, who I would have thought the prospect of a little income would be good, they might be able to store in a area for you

Go onto google maps, type in caravan storage, and it will show you what sites there are.
There are quite a few in the south east, particularly Essex and Hertfordshire

If you are really stuck ,do you know any local farmers?.
I had to store my van on a farm for a few months some years back.

Are you a member of The Caravan Club( and Motorhome) or the Camping and Caravan Club? Many of their Cl and CS sites do storage too.We have stayed at some, within an hour of Dartford Crossing , which seem to offer storage.

Have you tried Hertford C&CC site? I am fairly sure they do storage, and they are open all year.

Thanks for all your suggestions. C&CC was a good idea, but all the sites I've tried were either full or not yet open! In the end I did manage to find something on gumtree, hope it will turn out decent.

Don't forget to check with your insurance company.

They will probably not insure it at some sites.
