Hello Mick
Jan sent me your Link. Yes I brought a Folding Camper from the US of A in 2004. A 2003 Fleetwood Coleman. I have converted it to Uk use, however, I have a number of US accessories so had to make it dual. I installed the Usual UK trips to feed all the UK stuff and ran a feed from the output of the Main Circuit breaker, so it was all protected, to a heavy duty transformer, had to be heavy as I have A/C in the Camper, which fed all the American circuits via the US circuit breakers. There are good helpful folk on this site. I certainly recieved a lot , for which I am greatful, so, between us I am sure we can help. Feel free to chase up my help if your "Boots" plan fails. I have to say that these adapters can be a nusiance as they have to be on hand so conversion of the sockets is a preference if you only have UK stuff but, if like me, you also have US or Canadian accessories, you need to keep the two. It is important that you only input into the Vehicle, from UK Campsite mains, via a fully compliant Control Circuit but I am sure that you know that already, and make sure that the Canadian system is protected via that UK Compliant Control Circuit so that the UK mains only sees your UK side. That is as simple as I can put it, in non technical terms. But happy to advise further, should the need arise.
