this topic has been discussed many times before, but this will be our first time that we will use the tunnel, when I looked at their booking site, it still mentions about the gas, ie if it is for dual use then you are not supposed to use the tunnel. I have 2 gaslow bottles fitted and they both will be turned off, what else is there for them to check???
Your gaslow cylinders will not be a problem. It is where the vehicle has a dual fuel system (where it can be driven using gas as well as petrol) as this system cannot be isolated.
Lots of motorhome and caravans use the tunnel everyday without a problem
thanks for the reply, I guess I just wanted some reassurance, the wife was giving me a bit of grief over the decision, I think she prefers the ferry, but what the heck we have to try this and see if we would like it.
i always disconnected the hose from bottles staff check and seam to like this they no the bottles are turned off this way .some times you do this and they do not check
------------- do it to day it might be too late tomorow
as per the previous replies, here are the conditions of carriage with details on LPG. up to 47Kg of weight (not sure if including container....)
As a tent camper I always declared gas tanks and they just wanted to see them (a bit of a pain if all packed away). With the caravan they have always checked the tanks (nice and easy to open gas locker).
