Hi, My Hymer, on a Fiat Ducato base, has black plastic bumpers and trim all the way around. Over time they have faded at different rates and now have about 4 different colours of grey!
Anyone got experience of trying to get everything back to a nice deep black? I see there's a number of products on the market - all with varying reviews.
Thanks......

Hi Snowy,
I can thoroughly recommend "Wipe New", it is expensive but boy does it work.
A word of warning, don't get it on the paintwork.
My old van had a bumper that was badly weathered, and was different shades of bleached charcoal, the transformation was amazing (videos on youtube by the company).
Had the van two years after that and still looked like a new bumper.
As I said, expensive but use it sparingly , it goes a long way.
They also do a headlight restoring kit for dulled headlight lenses equally effective.
Regards,
Greg
If you are feeling brave and are very careful use a heat gun on low and protect anything that is not the bumper with a heat matt as you go. Then apply a cheap dressing product for a bit of protection and a finished look.
Warning: don't overheat anything, its non reversible if you do.
I used black liquid shoe polish on the black plastic on daughters car that had turned grey and would not restore with typical "back to black" products. Gave good results and lasted.
Thanks all - hadn't considered shoe polish, but I guess that makes sense. Not sure I'm brave enough for heat gun.
I'll let you know what I end up using & how it goes...........
An old trick I learned from my time in the motor-trade was to bring up bumpers and other plastics was with old engine oil, just put some on a rag and rub it in. Don't forget to wear gloves......
