Hi guys - we are going to sell our motorhome after we finished our last weeks break end of September - is there a better time of year to sell, we were thinking there would be more interest at the start of the better weather, so maybe next Easter rather than try and sell it this winter when people may have to also consider winter storage etc? - this is our first motorhome so we've never sold before - thank you

Hi,
I think you will find this is the best time of year to sell, just like winter is the best time to buy.
You would have to weigh up your cost of insurance,MOT,road tax, van a year older and possibly storage against what you might lose selling say at the end of September.
You can always put it up for sale in September at a realistic price and turn down the silly offers you will get from the trade etc. You might get lucky especially now with the clamour for motorhomes of all ages.
Good luck.
Regards,
Greg
Thanks Greg - I suppose we will have nothing to lose by putting up for sale in the Autumn, it will still be just 4 years old. We will look for our next one Autumn 2018, as we are having a 'big' holiday flying next year so makes good sense to sell it on and wait until after the hol to buy, that way we dont have a newish van just sat on the drive for months before we can use it, still working so only get away for allocated holidays. odd weekends

Hi,
Well in your favour will be the unprecedented demand for all types of camping equipment.
I know of at least 4 people who have been looking for a motorhome for the past year,as soon as dealers have them they are sold. The private market the same, I sold my last van the day I put it up for sale last year.
Enjoy your big holiday and good luck.
It really has been sunny South Wales for us the past few days.
Regards,
Greg
I think it is a fallacy to say that you can get a bargain buying in Winter - you might get rid of yours quicker in the spring, but not necessarily for more money than you would selling in winter. Enjoy your summer then sell it!
Economically I think that by buying and selling will cost a fair deal of money. I would hang on to your present motorhome. Unless of course you want to upgrade in any case.
