I have to ask.......why a transverse bed ? our bed is a fixed in-line which means no climbing over your partner, so much nicer. Just a thought.

the ones we have seen in our price range tend to be smaller, or have the fixed beds with a shorter side than the other, we are both tall and find the transverse beds tend to be bigger lengthways - I dont get out at night so no clambering

Just a question of external dimensions. We wanted a van with a fixed double bed but less than 6M long.   
The 'climbing over partner' not a problem for us especially as he that needs more nocturnal 'visits' is on the outside!
