The water in our Thetford fridge will not drain through the drainage hole. It doesn't matter if it is level or not it refuses to drain away causing everything in the fridge to be soaking wet. I have to keep a cloth under the large salad drawer in the bottom to soak up the excess water dripping and running down the back of the frige. If I have a basket to store thing in it is full of water.
We have tried everything but nothing will work. Has anyone come across this problem?
Would never have thought of the tyre pump!!! Have done the thin wire bit - that didn't work.
But the hole seems to be higher than the water level, even at its highest so the water just gathers in the groove and when reaches the top of it runs down the back of the fridge and pools on the bottom. it then runs out when you open the door. That's why I keep a cloth in the bottom.
Have a look from the outside of the van
Remove the vent cover and you should see the pipe that comes out from the inside of the fridge.
The pipe normally ends up above a small drip tray, the water drops onto the drip tray and the heat from the fridge element evaporates it
Try and clear the pipe using the wire or pump
Thanks for all the replies (and sorry for the delay in answering - we have been without internet but back home now). We used the electric pump for the tyres to blow it out and it worked!!! Many thanks to everyone who came up with a suggestion.
the hole looks above the water drain level as there is a small well to hold any water before it flows down hole into pipe ..as said above post remove vent cover blow out pipe ....
------------- do it to day it might be too late tomorow
