Hi Guys,
I have what I think is an Alde 3020 boiler and one day I noticed a drip of anti freeze liquid from a small black rubber pipe under the van.
The boiler looks like the one pictured here:

The black rubber pipe from the round brass fitting in the above photo (almost at the top centre) goes through the floor to drain to open air below the van. (maybe an overflow or drain pipe) This pipe started to give a steady drip of the heating anti freeze fluid, thus draining the expansion tank. I folded this rubber pipe over hence blocking the drip and then topped up the expansion tank.
However where the pipe pushes unto the brass unit, it started leaking due probably to the back pressure. Would I be right in thinking that the “brass unit” has developed a fault and requires replacing in order to correct the problem?
As I plan to leave for our summer trip next week and all the local workshops are fully booked, I am now looking for any help I can get as blocking this "overflow" pipe does not sound like the best idea that I have had.
