After four wonderful years camping in our converted Mazda Bongo, she no longer accommodated our growing family so we have just sold her and bought an 1990 Autohomes Travelhome. We have spent the last week or so 'redecorating'. Lots to do as she had been very neglected, but after all our hard work we are now looking forward to taking her away for her maiden voyage this weekend. Going just up the road to Chichester C&CC site to test her out and try our new Outdoor Revolution Sport Air 325 awning:) Cant wait!!

Thanks:) We have been members of C&CC club for years now and never had any problems although we prefer the smaller certified sites, but as this is a trial run with both the van and the awning, we decided to pick somewhere very local and go with what we know. Once we are more comfortable with the new van and know that everything does what it should we will be adventuring off to other places and sites:)

Cheers Jamiedodger. Like you, when we got a new van, we would go to local sites like the CC site at Wickham first to check things out. When the children were small we used to go down to the Witterings or Bracklesham bay. Later on we started to venture across the channel.
Now I've retired to Scotland, getting to the continent means a long drive just to get to the ferry. So, hope you have a successful weekend.

I'm tired of reality, so I'm off to look for a good fantasy.
Jamiedodger, I know you had an elderly van before, but I hope you're in the AA or another similar organisation. I say that because when we got our motorhome (it was then 12 years old) it was similarly neglected (e.g. moss in the wipers) and on every trip for the next couple of years something would happen to things which were equally neglected but less visible. Alternator failed, timing belt was on upside down, brakes seized up, exhaust fell off... Having said which, we still have the same van and love it dearly: it's been well worth the dramas!
So I hope you have fun & the right kind of adventures in your new MH.
PS do check the age of your tyres -plenty of threads about old tyres. We had a blowout after the first MoT.
