Hello We have afour year old Pilot Reference Motorhome and had warning light and message warning saying to contact manufacturer as something was wrong with airbags We contacted a local electrician specialist to have the diagnostics and he has informed us that the panel is faulty which is costing a cool 280 pounds a 25 pound charge for diagnosing and haven't been told what the cost is for fixing it Quite distraught that a four year old mh would have this happen to Were hoping this isn't a Friday van Has anyone had this experience.
You could use a simple diagnostic tester to read the fault code and reset the error message as a first attempt.
A simple code reader costs less than £20
it may be a poor electrical connection problem
Happened to my wife's car once, reset it using the reader and it never happened again
Air bag warning light most times come on because of a wire connector fault under a front seat mainly driver's seat because the seat is moved back and forth for different drivers. Worth looking there first.
We've got the same warning. It came on when we were going to France for 6 weeks. The handbook says that either the air bag may not deploy in an accident or it will go off at random. We thought it might have been acable under the passenger seat when what's stored under there moved when we had to stop suddenly on the motorway.
We phoned Green Flag who refused to come out. We phoned the garage we use at home and they said just go on holiday, it won't be anything serious. We carried on with our fingers crossed and got it checked as soon as we arrived home end of June. We had to go to the main dealer and are currently still waiting for a part to come in. £100 for diagnosing the problem and about £250 to fix it.
