...I am always looking out for small farm type camp sites...
Can I suggest using Camp Site Search, selecting "Club CL/CS" (and any other requirements)?
These are "5-van" Certificated Locations (authorised by the Caravan And Motorhome Club - formerly Caravan Club) and Certificated Sites (of the Camping and Caravanning Club) open only to members of the respective Club. Many are basic and may only have a drinking water tap, a Chemical Disposal Point and refuse disposal, others may have additional facilities, most are inexpensive but you will have to take the club membership fee(s) into account, of course.
And there's a list of Pub Sites here.
There's also Brit Stops, which I understand is a annual directory of pubs etc which accept overnight motorhomes or campervans belonging to their customers.
And if you search the web you should be able to find a list of motorhome stopovers where you can park overnight, sometimes without charge.
