Andrew, a neighbour's son has just got his first car and fitted a 1000Watt sound system! Now, that would drain your battery!
Now, normally you would connect the speakers to the cab radio, but that would eventually drain the starter battery. To prevent this, my radio turns off after 20 mins. if the engine isn't running.
I don't worry about gadgets in my van, but if I take my laptop, I connect a pair of speakers to it for music. I could, should I wish to, stream music or video assuming I had an internet connection.
------------- Two drifters off to see the world.
I'm tired of reality, so I'm off to look for a good fantasy.

Andrew you mention having the Internet on in your original post, I am assuming you have a device that already streams from the Internet and you would like to conect said device to the speakers? The minimum you will need is a small amplifier that will drive the speakers, your device is then connected to the amplifier via a cable to provide the signal.
