Probably been covered before but. I’m selling the caravan and keeping the car hence no claims bonus used up. The Wife has her own car and insurance. Any ideas on the best way and best insurers when you own a car and a motor home? Any advice appreciated Dixie.
I never found it a problem as there were companies who would 'mirror' the NCB so you got the same on both vehicles. Now, having retired, I own the Motorhome with wife as a named driver and she owns the car with me as a named driver. The Green Flag breakdown insurance covers either of us in any vehicle.
------------- Two drifters off to see the world.
I'm tired of reality, so I'm off to look for a good fantasy.
Hi Dixie and everyone else for that matter as am a newbie here. Our experience has shown that it is best to keep the three policies separate as they can be suited better to individual needs. Our MH policy from Grove and Dean without any NCB, including breakdown cover and 30 days European cover comes under £200.00 We had in the past, multi vehicle policies from Admiral and others but did not offer the best value, especially in cases that we needed to change 1 vehicle.
Hope it helps
Kind regards
Vass
You will most likely have to start from scratch with the motorhome ncd but you should get one or two years to start you off if you have full ncd on the car already.
When I first took out MH insurance 7 years ago, Saga were happy to give me the full NCB built up on my car, and so were the other insurers I had quotes from at that time.
I would imagine most insurers would give you full NCB.
