Hello everyone I hope you can help. I have been trying to maintain my van to ensure any water ingress is dealt with asap to prevent deterioration, to which I thought I had been on top of. however at the weekend I discovered two soft spots at each corner of the habitation door, mainly on the floor but 1-2 inches above the floor on the wall (above soft spot on floor). I do not think door leaking it looks like the condensation running down door frame, on to floor and rotting it, do you think this is likely. I am going to remove door and door frame rtf and reseal as precaution. However what about the soft corners of floor\wall edge, what will I have to do to repair, surely not a new floor, can I patch or something?

In answer to your question, regarding the floor, if you are removing the habitation door to reseal, you will have to look at the same time at the area of the flooring each side of the door. If you have a vinyl covering, make sure you cut away in perfectly straight lines (if possible matching the plank effect)and then check the condition of the 'wood' beneath it. I would think that you certainly need a moisture meter at the very least. Water can do a surprising amount of damage in a very short time. Removing the vinyl to the outermost area of wet. Then making sure that no other damaged flooring remains.
Condensation does cause damage, and if you find that no leaks are visible I would suggest you find somehow that you can infill the door and it's surrounding frame are treated with some sort of expanding foam to remove cold spots. Wall board is available for repairs.
I have never myself attempted to do a job like this, and know only that it must be attended to with some urgency. I wish you luck, and know that more members will be along to help that do have knowledge of the problem you have.

If you remove the vinyl from the affected areas as the op said you will find it dries out pretty quick cut out the soft board 3mm on the wall 5mm on the floor fit new using caravan floor adhesive.
if your very careful removing the vinyl you can refit using heavy duty vinyl paste.
Is the leak from the rail ouside and soaking up the wall from the floor.

thank you gerona sound advice. I actually think it is years of condensation running from the internal door surround ad it's metal onto the floor and as wet very slightly up the wall. as the soft spots small. what would you advise, remover door chrome\seals and reseal to be sure? thanks

If you can I wouldn’t remove the door frame as they can be a pain to get back correctly.
If you have a multi tool (oscillator) they great for cutting the board.
Cut into 4” size pieces and break off the wall and floor leaving the polystyrene if it’s only a small area you could try Sikaflex but should use Apollo floor glue for bigger areas .
