It looks like Frody had a rather larger budget than £4k.
The early Talbots were OK, generally reliable .. BUT ...
Without power steering, they were like a tank to drive, they were grossly underpowered and very thirsty. On top of that, the gear change was terrible (although this could be improved)
While toilet & shower were fairly standard, blown air heating was not. You could retro-fit a Westabo or Eberspacher if you have a diesel vehicle - but at a high cost. There may be LPG versions available.
So, for a low budget, the Talbot could be a possibility, but for £4k - well, you can't really expect all the bells & whistles of a modern van.
