just rang caravan guard as advertised in the forum for our peugeot boxer and they are asking who converted it??? I havn't got a clue, it is 21 years old never had to answer this question before any clues anyone?
They want to know if it was converted by a well known converter eg Autosleepers, Trigano, Hymer or if it was converted by an enthusiastic amateur. If is a self build it might be worth trying NFU for a quote.
Look around inside for a maker’s plate. Even if it was converted by a small campervan converter that is no longer in business there should be some sort of plate somewhere with converter’s business name & address.
If there is nothing at all then it might be a homemade conversion which might limit your choice of insurers. Can you take a few photos of interior & post them on here? Somebody might be able to identify the converter.
Are there any graphics on the exterior? This is usually a good way to identify a maker.
What does it say in the registration document? That may help someone, to help you.
I have just spoken to Safeguard, but they couldn't give me a quote as our bus has a DIY interior.
They put me through to their sister company, Phoenix Ins who didn't the sort of cover I wanted.
So far the best insurer for us is HIC.
