The dealer should have done this for you. If it is a new van, it should have been set up prior to you taking delivery. You may find you have to pay now, so stand your ground if they say you do.
The problem is, your van is new, but the base vehicle is more than likely not.
I’ve not got a Bailey. But I bought a Rollerteam in January 2018. It was first registered in May 2017 I am the second owner. It has a uconnect Tom Tom sat nav .The map installed was December 2014 so I decided to update. It was 30 months out of date when the van was purchased. I think the original owner had 90 days to update free of charge. I down loaded TomTom home on the laptop . The site difficult to use. I inserted the memory stick in the van to prep the stick for the update. Then inserted it into the laptop, tried to download the map but curiously lost the security padlock on the web page when trying to pay by PayPal. Stupidly tried again and failed. I phoned Tom Tom and was told there should be a security padlock on the payment page. They sent a link for the map update with the help of another phone call successfully down loaded the map on the memory stick and down loaded it to the van. I’ve changed my PayPal password and the account is fine. It was a complete pain in the backside but is now sorted. I must add anyone who is tech savvy would probably find things much easier. Good luck, Dixie
Thank you my sat nav so out of date went to Devon it took me off the M5 thought villages, good job I didn't follow it.
I have been told how to update it if it works I'll post it on here.
RDS123, IF you have to pay...send the dealer an invoice for the cost. They may pay it, but there is a way to get it back. That was not the way to treat any customer, the fact that you were a customer for a new van is truly unforgivable of them.
If when you go for your first service try to be in the area where they are, make an appointment for the service, get yourself to be local to them, and just go in, get it done, and when you pay...deduct the cost of the Satnav update. I would find a way of making it clear they would not see me again after that. It makes you wonder what else they may have 'forgotten' to do.
You don't pay the FULL bill you ain't getting your camper back. Simples.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.

Have you checked to see if the Sat Nav is set up correctly?
it may be set to take you shortest routes or it may have
IQ routing enabled if its Tomtom based system which will vary your route depending on time of day .
I have a 2016 Elddis and the Tomtom came with a 3 month free update pack, although Elddis, Tom Tom and Peugeot did not tell me at the time
Tomtom told me they did not support it! Now they do
The free update is a one off, ie 1 map
I therefore did not update it at all because I could find out how to do it.
Just spoke to Tomtom and they have just given me a 3 month update pack and today updated to the latest 2018 map so I should get another map update until the pack expires
