If I have a small car , I.e Fiat 500 or simikar , equipped with the Smart Tow , fully braked A frame system, will it affect the car’s residual value by much when traded in or can ithe system be cost effectively removed before sale?
I have tried to find any information on this doing an internet search, but can’t really find any information on this ,
Thanks
Dave11, you are going to get shafted irrespective if you have any thing attached to your tow car. Just enjoy the moment. I previously had a Renault with A Frame fitted. The cost of transfer was ridiculous so let it go fitted to car. Had another, expensive, A Frame fitted to new car. If you are concerned about value for money then a) don't buy a motorhome, go on a World Cruise and b) hire a taxi wherever you go. This will probably start a right old ding dong about towing cars and why not buy a caravan! It's personal....just do it, enjoy it....and oh, don't forget to wave.
From our research we found a patchy selection of cars already fitted with A Frame kit and usually if priced at a bit above car value sold quickly ,so the cost of fitment basically is written off for self fitting?
The newer electronic vacuum pump systems cost more but are lighter to handle, probably
safer but more high tech to go wrong.
Use in Europe is becoming more risky as they
use their view of the towing laws as a cash cow by fining us if stopped for other motoring
errors.
As Dave above says, get out there and see the world beyond the camp sites and be able to park where you wish😎🙋🙋🙋
