I am not strong enough to lift the rooftop bed on a Citroen Berlingo campervan by myself. Are there air jacks or other devices I can use to help me lift up the bed?

Morning..

I've obviously no idea how your bed functions/raises/pivots etc but...
Is there anyway you could pick up some strong anchor point in the roof (or at the top of the side pillars) and then use something along the lines of strong *luggage straps or light duty ratchet straps?

At least with strap(s), it would give you a chance to have a second bite at it, instead of having to haul it up in one go...

What ever I used, I'd want to keep it simple.

I did find an air bag assist lift system made in Australia http://www.rvairlifters.com.au/index.htm. It is a custom made rectangular air bag fixed with brackets at each end and has tubes going to a 12 volt compressor. On another Australian forum they suggested a Telescopic plaster board prop. There is one on Amazon.co.uk. This is the pop up roof bed of the Citroen Berlingo.

Oooh...my mistake...
I was just picturing a drop-down bed/hammock that was stowed up in the roof of the vehicle (and not a pop-up roof with a bed in it).

Who carried out the roof conversion..and do/can they not fit gas struts as a(straight forward?) option?

Those air lifter things look a nifty idea..a shame they're in Aus'(I'm, perhaps wrongly, assuming you aren't?).
Although I can't help feel that it's something else to go wrong...
