My tyres are now due for replacement. The current ones are Continental but does anyone have experience or recommendation for other brands such as Michelin or Pirelli? Swift motorhome, 2011 Fiat Ducato.
I replaced all mine with all season tyres, to help on muddy sites, and I do live in a rural area with rough tracks around. I bought Maxxis tyres supplied and fitted for I think £108 a tyre. They also carry a lifetime guarantee so if I get a puncture I get a new tyre...or so I’m told. Really happy with the tyres
I have Michelin and I’m really happy with them. But I think I’d be really happy with continental. I would buy the best tyres you can afford always have done wether it’s a car, motor bike, scooter or caravan it’s the only things keeping you in contact with the road. I think you can’t go wrong with a brand name. Everything we own Michelin, Continental or Pirelli. Although the Wheel barrel is screwfix and it’s rubbish on corners. Good luck, Dixie.
I am booked in for a new set of tyres at 0900hrs in the morning i have ordered michelin tyres at £111 each current tyres are Brigestone manufactured week 21 2011 and all but one have a lot of sidewall cracking
I have a personal preference for Michelin tyres on my car as at one point is was doing about 35k per year and a set of michelin tyres would last the full year other brands gave at best 24k miles so although more expensive to fit were more cost effective over the 3 year life of a car i will be able to report back in a few years of how the michelin tyres perform on my Adria twin
I appreciate the feedback, thank you. Yes, those wheelbarrows can be tricky sometimes! Sorry Fin676, can't wait for your assessment in a few years. Having already decided to buy decent tyres the problem now is finding a set. Places I've tried haven't got any stock but fortunately I'm not desperate. Will eventually settle for Michelin or Continentals. Thanks again, and Happy Motorhoming to all. David
I had problem with the Michelin tyres on my two previous vans. Both had sidewall failures although the tyres still had good tread and were only about 4 years old.
The current van also had Michelin tyres which were showing considerable sidewall cracking (tread OK), so I changed them for Nokian C-line Cargo tyres at £105 per tyre fitted. Most noticeable difference is that they are much quieter than the old Michelins.
------------- Two drifters off to see the world.
I'm tired of reality, so I'm off to look for a good fantasy.
Changed my tyres on a previous MH and had continental vanco fitted. No problems, bought them from ASDA , best price available and they arranged for Halfords to firm them,
