Hi
I have a Peugeot Boxer with a built in 240v battery charger. Can I fit a solar panel to charge the battery when off grid?

Yes should be able to no issue.
You need a panel, a regulator, and the associate cables.
The panel voltage is variable and so you need it to go into a regulator so the battery is properly charged. The regulator is wired to the battery.
to live off grid you need at least 100w panel, bigger is better.
You do not go near the 240V circuits it is all low voltage.
You also need a good sized leisure battery to live off grid.

I was a bit concerned that if I plug in to shore power it would effect the solar panel

The on board charger converts 240V AC to 12v to14V output to charge the battery when on hookup.

The solar panel generates about 18 to 20V and the regulator converts it to 12v to14V output to charge the battery.

You can use either or both, they both know the state of charge of the battery and self regulate accordingly.
